Colorado Springs police investigate after finding suspicious item

Colorado Springs police are investigating after officers found something that looked like a hand grenade under a car Monday night.

Officers responded to the 500 block of East Colorado Avenue around 8:30 Monday night. A possible explosive device was found under someone’s car, police said.

The CSPD Regional Explosive Unit was called and inspected the device. It turns out it was a toy replica, police said.

An investigation is still ongoing.
