Senate candidate Gardner gives GOP radio address

Republican Rep. Cory Gardner is getting a little lift from his party.

Gardner was selected to give Saturday’s weekly Republican party radio address. Gardner is challenging Democratic Sen. Mark Udall in November. In his national radio speech, Gardner criticized the Obama administration and Senate Democrats for not approving the Keystone pipeline to carry oil from Canada through the U.S. Gardner said failing to approve the pipeline costs jobs.

Udall voted against the pipeline this summer. The Senator’s office says he does not want to inject politics into the approval process. Gardner’s supporters have hammered the Senator in political ads for his vote.

Gardner and Udall are locked in one of the closest and most expensive Senate races in the country. The contest could determine which party controls the chamber.
