Parents arrested in suspected child abuse case

Police say a child abuse investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Colorado Springs couple.

Grant Idle, 54, and Michele Idle, 49, were arrested on September 10, 2014.

The investigation began on September 2, 2014 when a school resource officer learned about a possible child abuse incident.

Detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit say the victim was assaulted by his father on August 28, 2014. They say the juvenile, whose exact age was not given, suffered a broken clavicle during the incident.

Grant Idle faces charges of crimes against at risk juveniles and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

Police say Michele Idle failed to report her son’s injury or seek medical attention for him. They say she may have also been aware of other abuse situations that she didn’t report. She faces a charge of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.
