Motorcyclist killed in highway 24 crash identified

The Colorado State Patrol says a 22-year-old motorcyclist from Colorado Springs was killed in an accident at highway 24 and 31st Street Thursday morning (8/21/14).

Troopers say Nicholas R. Uberecken, 22, was riding a 1984 Honda Magna westbound when a 2009 Ford Escape that was eastbound turned north on 31st Street, directly in the path of the Honda.

The driver of the Escape has been identified as Joe Sevilla, 47, of Manitou Springs.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to have been factors in the crash.
