Local businesses partner for military spouse spa day

Genesis Spa and the Paul Mitchell School in Colorado Springs have partnered with organizers to sponsor a unique event for military spouses.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 10 and is meant to honor the sacrifice of military spouses.

One of the organizers, Stephanie Saunders, is a military wife who is waiting for her husband to return from deployment.

She said she wanted to give back to those who have worked so hard to be both mom and dad while their spouses are deployed.

Spouses will be able to get a free day of pampering that includes eyebrow waxing, hand treatments and mini-makeovers at the Genesis Spa.

Children are also welcome to the event and will be able to make something special for their parent who is returning from deployment.

If you are spouse who would like to participate in the event, RSVP by Tuesday to abusch@vipmtginc.com or call 719-323-6190.

If you would like to donate to this event, organizers say you can donate gift cards for military families.

Those gift cards can be dropped off to V.I.P. Mortgage Inc. in Colorado Springs at 7660 Goddard St., Suite 100.
