Burglary Ring Busted, 2 Arrested

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office arrested a couple in connection with a string of burglaries.

Timothy Roath,26, and his girlfriend, Audrey Urban,46, are believed to be responsible for at least 20 burglaries of storage units and businesses over the last year and a half in Fremont, Custer and Chaffee Counties, authorites.

Roath and Urban are both facing charges of second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and theft.

The couple was arrested last week after a 6-month long investigation.

“(It was) quite an enterprise in stolen property,” said Sheriff James Beicker.

Beicker said in May 2012, detectives recovered about $200,000 worth of stolen property in two large storage units in Fremont County. Detectives have been able to return about 10 percent of the goods.

The stolen items included motorcycles, a trailer-mounted welder, tools, sporting goods, electronics, firearms, collectibles and household goods.

The Sheriff’s office believes Roath already disposed of thousands of dollars in stolen property.

Detectives are asking anyone who has had a storage unit in Fremont or surrounding communities to check their property and report any missing items.
