Gunshots ring out in Springs neighborhood

Two people were arrested after gunshots ring out in a Colorado Springs neighborhood.

Police responded to a call about gunshots shortly before 1 a.m. Monday in the 800 block Yuma Street.

When officers arrived they were pointed in the direction of a specific townhouse in the area, police said. They made contact with 22 year old Johnathan Conerly and 19 year old Keantaye Joseph inside that townhouse. Police determined Conerly and Joseph had fired a gun in the air in the parking lot.

The men were arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of prohibited use of a weapon.

No injuries or property damage were reported.
