Man gets 10 years for armed robbery in SW Colorado

A New Mexico man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in an armed robbery in southwestern Colorado in which he was accused of assaulting several victims and leaving them tied up for more than 12 hours.

The Telluride Daily Planet (http://bit.ly/P4S5sk ) reports 42-year-old Gregory Richard Broome, of Clovis, N.M., was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to one count of burglary as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Prosecutors say he and another man were involved in the Sept. 6 robbery, assault and kidnapping at a property near Norwood where medical marijuana was being grown. They were accused of assaulting and tying up three people, then stealing cash, marijuana plants and other property.

The victims were able to escape the next morning and notified authorities.
