Springs Safeway Closing

The Safeway located near North Academy and North Carefree Circle will close in the beginning of June, according to Safeway spokeswoman Kris Staaf.

?For more than a year we evaluated the store extensively and looked at options to improve its performance. Ultimately, our business analysis indicated that we needed to cease operations at that location,? said Staaf.

This location employs a staff of 50, but says they plan to place those employees at other area Safeway supermarkets.
