Update: Fire Burning South Of Deckers Now Under Control

Update: The West Creek Fire is mostly under control Thursday night, with crews performing a final mop-up and looking for any additional hot spots.

The fire burned about 7 acres Thursday afternoon, and was possibly sparked by a set of fallen power lines.

Pike National Forest and Green Mountain Falls fire crews assisted in fighting the fire. The U.S. Forest Service was the agency in command.

The fire started along CR 78 in the Hayman burn area. A single engine air tanker was ordered to help fight the flames.

The fire did not threaten any structures.
