UPDATE: Albertson’s Person Of Interest Identified

Pueblo Police and Pueblo Crime Stoppers no longer need the public’s assistance finding a man accused of sexually assaulting a child at a local grocery store.

The alleged assault happened at the Albertson’s in the 1500 block of S. Prairie Ave. on the south side of Pueblo just before 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 31st.

A juvenile male reported to Police that the suspect grabbed his buttocks while he was in the grocery store bathroom washing his hands.

Officers of the Pueblo Police Department were able to obtain surveillance video of the suspect exiting the bathroom at the time of the incident.

On Thursday, Pueblo Crime Stoppers sent a release saying they have identified the suspect and no longer require assistance identifying or locating the suspect. It is not clear if the man was charged or is in custody.

A family member called KRDO NewsChannel 13 on Thursday saying the man turned himself in on Monday after seeing his photograph in the news.
