Pueblo West Fire Engine Involved In Accident
A Pueblo West fire engine was involved in a minor traffic accident when it was responding to a reported car fire.
It happened late Thursday morning as the fire engine was turning into a parking lot at S. Purcell Boulevard, said Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputy Laurie Kilpatrick.
Damage to both the car that hit the fire engine and the fire engine was minor, said Kilpatrick.
No one was hurt in the accident, Kilpatrick said.
The driver of the car that hit the fire engine was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, according to Kilpatrick.
The car that was reported on fire was actually having a mechanical issue, said Kilpatrick. The driver started seeing smoke coming from the front of the car as he was driving to Thanksgiving dinner and pulled off into the parking lot, Kilpatrick said.
