Homeowner Claims Stucco Co. Left Job Unfinished

Homeowner Beverly Alexander said she shelled out $2,300 for a stucco job left undone.

“I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else,” she said.

After taking a couple of bids, Alexander hired Pueblo Tex Stucco and Plastering. She said they agreed on a price of $3,600. But as soon as she gave them money, she said they only completed a day of work.

“They started a job that should have been done three weeks ago,” said Alexander. She said workers set up scaffolding and put up the foundation for the stucco.

“They were supposed to come back Monday. No show. …Thursday, Friday, Saturday, next Monday, no show,” said Alexander.

She and her husband were frustrated and said she received a nasty followup phone call from owner Scott Gills. Then, Alexander said she told them not to come back.

Since then, she has tried to reach them to get her money back with no success.

She has since been contacted by one of the workers hired by Pueblo Tex to do the preparation work.

Diana Canedo told KRDO News Channel 13 that she wasn’t paid for her work. She also said, she only received partial payment on another job.

KRDO News Channel 13 has been contacted by another couple who has also run into problems with Pueblo Tex. The couple said they’ve shelled out $6,000 for work that hasn’t been complete.

KRDO spoke with owner Scott Gill on Sunday afternoon. Gill said his lawyers are handling this case. He added that Alexander was unreasonable to deal with and they were thrown off the job. He also responded to allegations that he has not paid some of his contracted workers. Gill said that’s not true.

Alexander said she is also taking legal action.
