Nationally Known Fugitives Spotted In Colorado Springs

A trio of sibling wanted for a string of crimes in Florida and Georgia may be hiding out in the Pikes Peak area, according to FBI officials in Denver.

ABC News has learned that this sighting is credible, based on multiple FBI interviews with witnesses.

The trio was spotted in the vicinity of Woodmen and I-25 earlier on Tuesday.

The FBI does not know what direction they may be going in, but they are telling people to keep an eye out in rural areas and in campgrounds where the siblings may be staying or hiding out.

The Dougherty siblings – Ryan Dougherty, 21, sister Lee Grace E. Dougherty, 29, and half-brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley – have been on the run since August 2nd, after getting into a shootout with deputies during a high speed chase.

Just hours later, they’re suspected of hitting a bank in Georgia.

Their mother, Barbara Bell, made national headlines last week when she made an impassioned plea for the trio to turn themselves in.

The three individuals were last seen driving a white 4-door Subaru Impreza with Texas license plates LCS-909, which have been reported stolen out of Texas, Colorado Springs police said.

Police warned today that the siblings, known as the Dougherty Gang or Doughterty Family, is packing a powerful arsenal and is not afraid to use it.

The FBI is expected to release more info later tonight. We will of course continue to track developments and keep you on top of details.
