KRDO Brings Home 3 Emmy Awards

KRDO NewsChannel 13 brought home three Emmy awards over the weekend in the annual competition.

Vida Urbonas and Isaac Blancas were awarded for “Scott’s Story” in the ‘Continuing Coverage’ category — profiling former KRDO-TV assignment editor Scott Orr as he battles Parkinson’s disease.

Former KRDO-TV Producer Allison Hyduk won for ‘Best Morning Newscast’ for her coverage of the Chilean Miner Rescue. And, Barrett Tryon, who was then a producer for the station, won for ‘Best Daytime Newscast’ during a freak April 2010 snowstorm, just one day after tornadoes broke out across southern Colorado.

According to the Heartland Emmys website, there were more than 800 entries. Out of those, 260 were nominated and 92 awards were presented on Saturday.
