Ryan Lowen – Sports/News Reporter

I owe my drive for sports and news to the way I grew up. My passion for sports was developed right here in Colorado Springs, starting at Parks and Recreational football, YMCA basketball, and as I sat and watched Air Force basketball games with a group of about 200 other fans. Eventually, I made my way to Wasson High School where I was an all-city selection in football, basketball, and track.

I later ran track for Colorado State University and was an All-Mountain West performer in the 800m. I spent 4.5 years balancing running and school, while majoring in Broadcast Journalism.

I got my first job at NEWSCHANNEL 13 as in editor in August of 2006. I moved into the Sports Reporter position in March of 2007. I really enjoy covering the same college teams and high school football rivalries that I’ve grown up with. Feel free to email me at r.lowen@krdo.com.
