COLORADO SPRINGS – The former home of Deborah and Timothy Nicholls is getting a new look and a new owner.

The home on Undimmed Circle in Colorado Springs has been vacant, with boarded up windows and visible smoke stains since the fire in 2003.

“We always walk by the home, looking over there, just looking at it.You can tell something really bad happened, it’s really sad,” Christopher Branch, an 18-year resident of Undimmed Circle says.

As Deborah Nicholls is scheduled to appear in an El Paso County courtroom Monday for a hearing, her former home is seeing big changes.

The sound of saws and hammers brings along changes for the Undimmed Circle neighborhood.

“It’s a little bit different, just having somebody take over their home and stuff,” Branch says.

Branch remembers the Nicholls family running around the neighborhood. “They were always running around, playing in the neighborhood, laughing.”

He says things have changed since the fire. The neighborhood has never been the same. Branch hopes that the home’s newest owner can help bring the neighborhood back together. “As time goes on, I would like it if all of us could just go back to how things used to be – be normal again.”

The home’s new owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, tells NEWSCHANNEL 13 he’s excited to be an addition to the neighborhood.

Branch says neighbors will welcome their newestresident to the area.
