Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist
Date: 3/8/2016
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Position: Meteorologist / Multimedia Journalist
Job Description:
We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated meteorologist/MMJ at KRDO NewsChannel 13 in Colorado Springs, Colorado (ABC affiliate – market #89).
How would you like to have Pikes Peak in your backyard, live minutes from exceptional hiking, be a mere 3 hours from world class skiing and still be able to drive an hour north to catch the Broncos game in Denver?
The opening would require three days of reporting during the week, BUT your stories will all be weather related. If there’s severe weather (we get everything from tornadoes to flash flooding to blizzards!) you’ll either be out in it or assisting with coverage in the studio.
The ideal candidate must:
Produce forecasts, weathercasts and storm alert bulletins that are compelling, visually interesting, clear and concise. Follow policies and procedures consistent with our station goal to become the best and first choice for weather, news and information. Be enthusiastic and enterprising about weather coverage.
Make public appearances as needed to reflect positively on the station
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Chief Meteorologist and newsroom managers
