UPDATE: Man surrenders peacefully after standoff on Springs east-side.

An armed man who had been barricaded inside a home on Calamity Jane Lane for a little over an hour surrendered himself to police Saturday morning.

Police have identified him as 32-year-old Yareem Barnes-Ivy. He is being charged with Felony Menacing, Harassment, and Child Abuse.

The incident near Stetson Hills Blvd and Powers ended peacefully, with no injuries.

The man is in police custody. Officers remained on the scene afterwards, sweeping the house as a precaution.

Police were called out to the home about 10:20 Saturday morning on reports that a man had threatened a woman with a gun.

That woman was able to escape the home with along with her four year-old daughter.

Police set up a perimeter around the house, and spoke with the man via telephone as they tried to arrange a peaceful end to the stand-off.

Some neighbors were evacuated as a precaution.
