1 seriously injured after being hit by car on Colorado Ave.

Colorado Springs police say one person was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Colorado Ave. near 25th Street.

CSPD hasn’t identified the victim yet. The crash happened at about 2 a.m. in the 2500 block of W. Colorado Ave., according to a police report.

Police say the person was crossing Colorado Ave. but wasn’t in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. The driver did stay at the scene, and police say alcohol and speed don’t appear to be involved.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

CSPD said the section of Colorado Ave. between 25th and 26th streets was closed while the Major Crash Team investigated.
