Presidential Trump gives update on war with Iran

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KRDO) -- After over a month of war with varying rationales for it, President Donald Trump claimed Iran's nuclear capability was imminent.

"We just learned that, we took them out, we took them all out so that no one would really dare stop them and their race for a nuclear bomb," the President said in a nationally televised address.

President Trump blamed Iran for not making a deal to end the war, as well as the rise in gas prices.

"This short-term increase has been entirely the result of the Iranian regime launching deranged terror attacks against commercial oil tankers and neighboring countries that have nothing to do with the conflict," the President said.

President Trump insists peace talks are ongoing, while also threatening to escalate the war.

"We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing."

The President says the United States' military objectives are on track to be completed "Very shortly."

Until the war ends, and the strait of hormuz is reopened, gas prices are likely to remain high.
