Former youth pastor in Fountain convicted of sexual exploitation of a minor

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) -- A former youth pastor with the Salvation Army in Foutnain has been convicted of multiple charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to the Fountain Police Department (FPD), 39-year-old Jeffery Williams was convicted on Oct. 13, 2023, of sexual exploitation of a minor - possession and sexual exploitation of a minor - enticement.

The FPD says they began an investigation into a report of Williams sending sexually explicit material to a minor who attended his youth group. The investigation eventually led to his arrest.

According to the FPD, from 2013 to 2017, Williams was a pastor with the Salvation Army when it was located at 901 N. Santa Fe Ave in Fountain. He turned himself in on November 10, 2022, and was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on the charges of unlawful sexual communication in a position of trust and obscenity. 

The FPD said the Salvation Army was extremely helpful throughout this investigation.
