Billy The Greek

His surname is very, “Greek, very Greek,” says Air Force goalie Billy Christopoulos. Billy Christopoulos has Christ-stopped plenty pucks the last two years. His incredible play lead Air Force to the elite eight of the NCAA tournament last year and it earned him a nickname, “Kinda of crazy. Last year all of a sudden after one game Frank just, you know how Frank is,” says Christopoulos. “We got Billy the Greek,” says Air Force hockey coach Frank Serratore.

Do you like the nickname? “I like it yeah. I embrace it. I love it you know It’s crazy just last weekend I had two or three Greek guys come up to me after the Bentley game in the stands, like hey we’re Bentley fans but I saw your last name Greeks love Greeks I guess,” says Christopoulos.

The Greek freak likes making sprawling saves and his mother’s Mediterranean cooking.”Every time I go back home for a break. She usually has something like that waiting for me. My mom pastitsio which is Greek lasagna. Then some baklava,” says Billy the Greek.
