Flash flood potential ahead- 7-5-18

TONIGHT: Flash flooding is possible with heavy rain this afternoon! Storms that develop today have the possibility of being slow-moving, producing downpours. A flash flood watch is in effect for parts of the viewing area until midnight tonight. Remember while driving, turn around and don’t drown! Highs will be noticeably cooler, only reaching the 80s. Localized amounts up to an inch and a quarter are possible. Storms will be tracking off to the east after midnight. By early tomorrow morning, most of the showers will have moved out of the area. Lows dip to the 50s and 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: A few storms are expected, however they will not be as strong or severe as todays’. Highs will be in the 80s, with parts of the eastern plains reaching the 90s.

EXTENDED: This upcoming weekend, storms are possible in the higher elevations, while the rest of the area will remain relatively dry. Highs will be above-average throughout the weekend and into next week. The next best chance for showers and storms will be in the middle of next week.
