Nonprofit delivers Christmas trees to Fort Carson families

Six-hundred real Christmas trees were delivered to military families in Colorado Springs as part of the Trees for Troops program.

FedEx teamed up with The Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and tree farmers across America to deliver Christmas trees to service members across the world. Trees have been delivered to families at close to 65 military bases.

Each tree includes a letter of of gratitude and encouragement, aiming to bring joy to those families for the holiday season.

“The smiles say it all and when you have families, especially bringing their young kids, we know this is such a special time of year for everyone. It can be hard for those who have people who are stationed overseas or away from family and so to be able to bring a little bit of that Christmas spirit to them, it really warms our hearts,” said Lauren Doll, manager of communications for FedEx.

This is the 13th year for Trees for Troops and they have achieved a milestone by reaching over 2 hundred thousand trees delivered.
