One hurt after reported shooting

One man is recovering after a reported shooting in Colorado Springs.

Officers were called to a home in the 300 block of North Institute Street, which is near Platte Ave. and Boulder St.

Police say a man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. They say the incident started as domestic violence. Investigators say a woman ran outside the home, across the street to a coffee shop after shots were fired. They don’t believe she was hit.

When police arrived, they found the man barricaded inside the home. Police say shots were fired and the man came out with a gun shot wound. Authorities contained him, where he was later taken to the hospital.

No word yet on if any suspects are in custody.

Part of Institute Ave. is back open after being closed during the investigation.
