I-25 reopens between Colorado Springs and Castle Rock, other closures continue

The Castle Rock office of the Colorado State Patrol estimates that between 100 and 150 cars were stranded on I-25 between Monument and Castle Rock at one point Tuesday morning.

The interstate was closed in both directions, but it has since reopened.

In addition, Highway 24 reopened Tuesday afternoon.

In Woodland Park, a jack knifed semi blocked one westbound lane on Highway 24 at Morning Sun.

Here are the major highway closures and delays this morning:

Highway 160 is closed from Springfield to Trinidad.
Highway 287 is closed between Springfield and Lamar.
I-25 is closed southbound from Walsenburg to New Mexico.
I-25 is closed northbound at Raton Pass.
I-70 is closed from E-470 to Burlington.
Highway 86 is closed between Kiowa and I-70.
Highway 71 is closed from Last Chance to Limon due to poor visibility.
Colorado Springs Police Department is on accident alert.
State Patrol on accident alert in Teller County.
State Patrol on accident alert in El Paso County.
The City of Fountain is on accident alert.
