Colorado Springs woman’s phone number published in marijuana ad
A Colorado Springs woman is confused and trying to get answers.
She’s getting random phone calls every day from strangers asking about a marijuana shop.
At least 100 people have called her in the last two months, all looking for pot.
“Asking me if store is open, like on Labor Day Weekend, I received a few phone calls because they were eager to get there,” said Colorado Springs resident Margaret Jakubowski.
That store is Rocky Road Remedies, which sells medical marijuana.
Potential customers of the shop have called her and told her they saw her number published in ads online and in the newspaper.
“First I called my phone company. They re-assured me that there was no new customer with my phone number,” she said.
The company suggested she changed her home phone number.
But Jakubowski is in her 70s, she’s Polish and has a lot of friends overseas.
She doesn’t want to change her number.
She contacted the newspaper and Rocky Road. The number is only one digit apart. While the ad is correct now, she’s still getting calls.
“They’re calling very late in the evening and is disturbing me and waking me up, and I really don’t like that,” she said.
She’s hoping at the least, telling others will stop the constant calls.
“That problem should be corrected or call the prospective phone calls,” Jakubowski said. “They never apologized to me. It’s very upsetting to me.”
KRDO contacted Rocky Road to ask how the accident happened, but phone calls were never returned.
