Man Killed In Pueblo West Crash

An 84-year-old man has died after a two-car crash in Pueblo West.

The crash happened just before noon at the intersection of Joe Martinez Boulevard and Hahn’s Peak Avenue.

Pueblo County Sheriff’s investigators said the 84-year-old man was driving a Toyota Tercel northbound on Hahn’s Peak Avenue. Officials said he ran right through a stop sign at the intersection of Joe Martinez Boulevard. The driver of a Jeep Cherokee couldn’t avoid the collision and T-boned the Toyota.

Flight for life was called in to airlift the 84-year-old man, but he died of his injuries, officials said. His name has not been released.

The driver and passenger of the other car were taken to the hospital, officials said. Their injuries are not known.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash. Sheriff’s officials don’t believe that alcohol or speed were factors.
