Guilty Verdict For Suspect In El Ranchito Murder

A court has found Miguel Ortiz Marin guilty of first degree murder on Friday in the El Ranchito shooting from April 2010.

Marin is one of the suspects in the shooting death of a man outside the El Ranchito restaurant in Colorado Springs.

Esteban Garcia was murdered outside the restaurant on April 25, 2010. Cynthia Casado-Balestier and Marin were arrested on first-degree murder charges. Ana Tinajero, was arrested on a charge of accessory to murder, said CSPD Sgt. Steve Noblitt.

62-year-old Garca, an employee of El Ranchito, was shot and killed in the restaurant’s parking lot in what police are called a targeted attack in an attempted robbery.

Police found Garca with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot at 3970 Airport Rd. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Marin was also found guilty of Attempted Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery and Accessory.
