Whataburger unveils new food truck, plans multi-state tour

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Texas fast-food chain Whataburger unveiled a new 36-foot-long food truck that'll be slinging burgers on the go, and there are even plans to bring it out of Texas and into new markets.

Does that mean that Colorado Springs could finally get the taste of a Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich? Maybe.

According to the company, the truck is going on a multi-state tour in 2021 to visit existing markets and cities, but the truck will also go to new locations as Whataburger expands.

Unfortunately for the ex-Texans in the Springs who clamor for a Whataburger any time we post about In 'N Out's upcoming opening, there are no plans to expand to Colorado just yet. A company representative said an update will go out if that changes in the future.

For now, the closest Whataburger to Colorado Springs is about five-and-a-half hours away in Amarillo, Texas.
