Medicare Annual Enrollment period began on October 15 and ends soon, Monday, December 7. It’s the time of year when you review your Medicare coverage and options to make sure you have a health plan that meets your needs.

Choosing a Medicare plan is comprised of three pieces: choosing an insurance, choosing your network, and choosing your provider. When selecting each, it’s important to make sure each option you choose fits your specific medical needs.

You want to pick a plan, such as Medicare Advantage, that covers everything you need including medications, wellness exams, exercise programs, access to local hospitals, and more.

Annual Enrollment Period is important because choosing a Medicare plan is one of the most important decisions you can make, not only for your wellbeing, but also for your wallet.

• If you don’t make an enrollment decision, you may be locked into your current plan and network for the next year, with certain exceptions. This means that if anything has changed, with your current plan, health status, or budget, the decision to not make changes could either lead to unpleasant surprises or missed cost savings in 2022.
• For most people, the annual enrollment period presents an opportunity to make changes to your Medicare coverage for the next year.
• There is no one-size-fits-all approach when shopping for coverage, so it’s important that you are aware of the options available to you and what different Medicare plans can offer.

The long-term rewards of healthier care start with the Medicare plan you choose today. An Optum doctor and Medicare Advantage plan can help you enjoy:

• Lower costs
• Better health
• More coverage

People with Medicare Advantage:

• Medicare Advantage plans can save the average patient 40% on out-of-pocket expenses when compared to a standard Medicare plan.
• Are often healthier than people with Original Medicare.*
• Enjoy "whole you" coverage, including prescription drugs, hearing, vision and dental.

*Better Medicare Alliance

Find the Medicare plan that's right for you by tuning in on Thursday, November 4th, to learn about your Medicare options!

Medicare Advantage plans often include care management services that Original Medicare doesn’t. These may include medication therapy management, social services and care management for chronic conditions, inpatient stays, advanced illness, care transition and behavioral health.
• Medicare Advantage combines hospital care (Part A), medical services (Part B), and prescription drugs (Part D).
• Your primary care doctor coordinates specialists to deliver thebvpersonal care you need.
• Plus, many plans offer vision, dental, hearing, fitness memberships and more.

Optum Care is a family of more than 53,000 doctors and 1,450 neighborhood clinics across the country. We work together to help over 19 million people live healthier lives — in-person or virtually. We have been serving the Pikes Peak region for over 75 years, with 27 clinics and urgent cares in Monument and Colorado Springs. We also have 65 clinics and affiliated providers in the Denver metro area.

For the doctors on the front lines, it’s not just a job. It’s a calling.

WHAT WE DO

Our primary focus is primary care. Because of that, we can offer high-quality care at lower cost.

The primary care office should be the first stop for anything medical. It’s the gateway to better health, and home to everything that makes Optum different.

It includes:
• Case managers who organize all tests and appointments
• Care based on the latest science
• Virtual/tele-health appointments
• Comprehensive annual wellness exams
• In-person community activities
• Virtual content to help patients live a more active, healthier life

That means we can offer our patients a range of specialists, urgent care centers, surgery centers, mental health professionals and more. And all of them keep in touch with the primary care doctor.
