Girls Scouts across Colorado explored STEM from home

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- As many as 200 Girl Scouts from across Colorado participated in Girl Scout Engineering Day with the Society of Women Engineers at Colorado School of Mines this November.

In past years, this event has been held in person on the School of Mines campus. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, organizers have reimagined the program to offer girls a safe and virtual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) experience at home.

Activities included seven different STEM activities and a panel discussion. Girl Scouts had the option to order a supply kit or gather their own items.
