North Pueblo County home destroyed by early morning fire

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -  An early morning fire destroyed a home Monday morning in northern Pueblo County.

Around 5:15 Monday morning, the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office fire team, along with mutual aid from the Pueblo West Fire and Pueblo City Fire departments, responded to a call at a home in the 3200 block of Overton Road.

When deputies arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. According to the sheriff's office, two residents were able to escape the blaze without any injuries.

The home was located in an unincorporated portion of Pueblo County which does not have fire service. Fire crews from Pueblo West and the city of Pueblo worked the fire for nearly two hours before getting it extinguished.

The home, along with an attached garage and a vehicle were a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation; however, at this time, investigators said it is believed to be accidental in nature.
