Two juveniles suspected of stealing packages are caught after leading Fountain police on pursuit
FOUNTAIN, Colo. -- Fountain police say they apprehended two juveniles in a stolen vehicle after they allegedly stole packages from homes Monday on Calista Way and Traders Park.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 11,000 block of Falling Star Road for a report of a stolen vehicle. While officers were taking that report, another call came in to report porch pirating on Calista Way, according to the Fountain Police Department.
The suspect vehicle on Calista Way matched the description of the stolen vehicle on Falling Star Way. Within about 20 minutes, officers found the stolen vehicle in the area of Comanche Village Drive.
The vehicle pursuit lasted four blocks, ending in a cul-de-sac on Mojave Way. It was then that the driver of the stolen vehicle stopped and both suspects were taken into custody, police say.
The driver of the car was identified as a 15-year-old male, accompanied by a 13-year-old male passenger.
They were charged with motor vehicle theft, theft and underage marijuana possession.
Police say there were packages in the car that are believed to have been stolen. They're asking residents in the neighborhood of Calista Way and Traders Parkway to contact police if they're missing a package.
