Small dog dies after being thrown from car, deputies search for person responsible

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A small dog has died after being thrown from a moving car. Now, Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for the person responsible.

The Sheriff's Office says the dog was thrown from a black Lexus sedan driving eastbound on I-76, just before Sheridan Boulevard, at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The dog, a miniature poodle, was taken to Foothills Animal Shelter. Despite the best efforts made by the emergency animal clinic, the dog, unfortunately, did not survive.
