Pikes Peak sets Guinness World Records title for simultaneous doughnut dunking

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pikes Peak has officially earned a Guinness World Records title for the most people simultaneously dunking doughnuts into coffee, with 285 participants taking part in the event on Saturday.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, the record attempt was held to celebrate Colorado's 150th anniversary on Aug. 1. Officials say Guinness World Records confirmed the attempt after participants simultaneously dunked their doughnuts into coffee, setting a new world record.

“People come here from around the world to experience the summit, the incredible views and traditions like our famous Summit Visitor Center doughnuts. Setting a Guinness World Record title together is a memorable way to celebrate one of Colorado's most iconic destinations and create another chapter in the mountain's remarkable history," said Sarah Braun, interim manager of Pikes Peak – America's Mountain.
