Motorcyclist dies in crash on Hwy 115 outside of Colorado Springs

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist that shut down a section of Highway 115 just southeast of Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon.
CSP says the crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. near Barrett Road, which is close to the El Paso/Fremont County line.
A 45-year-old man was driving north on Hwy 115 on a motorcycle when he lost control and entered into the oncoming lane, CSP said. A Lincoln Continental was driving south and the motorcyclist collided into it, sending the car and the motorcycle off the road.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, CSP said, and the two occupants in the car, an 80-year-old and a 79-year-old, sustained moderate injuries. None of the victims have been identified yet.
CSP is investigating speed as a factor in the crash.
