Colorado State Fair Silver Queen Pageant goes virtual for 2020

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado State Fair might be limiting some of its events, but the show must go on to name a new Silver Queen.

The 2020 Silver Queen Pageant is still keeping up with the State Fair tradition, it's just going virtual because of COVID-19.

The competition is fierce this year, according to Sangre De Cristo Community Care. The youngest contestant is 65 and the most senior of the competitors is 104!

"Usually we'd be out at the state fair for a couple of hours in the middle of the day," said Trysten Garcia with Sangre De Cristo Community Care. "[We] tried to make it short and sweet so people watch it over the lunch hour and hope that everybody kind of gets to enjoy celebrating these women cause that's really what its all about especially this year."
