CSPD Narcotics Unit recovers 100+ pounds of methamphetamine during bust

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has announced a major drug bust.

According to CSPD, the narcotics unit was notified on Jan. 18, 2025, that a vehicle carrying a large amount of methamphetamine could be traveling into the Colorado Springs area. On Jan. 19, the vehicle was located and a traffic stop was initiated on I-25.

CSPD said Narcotics K9 Nyx conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a "trained odor." The vehicle was searched and 107.2 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered.

This remains an ongoing investigation, CSPD said. No further information is available at this time.
