Multiple homes hit by gunfire on Colorado Springs’ east side

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Wednesday evening, just before 8 p.m, the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the Cimarron Hills area on the east side of Colorado Springs.

When officers arrived in the area of Piros Dr. and Haystack Dr., they located multiple shell casings in the road. They learned that two vehicles were involved in a dispute and shots were fired from at least one of the vehicles.

The officers determined a single round had entered a home in the area but no one was hurt.

Just about two hours later, officers responded back to the same area after receiving another report of shots fired. CSPD said this time, multiple homes were hit by bullets but again, no one was hurt.

Police said that none of the homes were the intended targets.
