PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A Pueblo man was sentenced to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to a 2020 shooting.

Jason Martinez, 29, was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder but pleaded down to a second-degree assault with a deadly weapon this month.

After the November 2020 shooting, the Pueblo Police Department released a photo of Martinez allegedly leaving the scene. When officers arrived at the 2100 block of East 14th St., they found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives say Martinez went to a home on Pueblo's east side with intentions to rob the place but ended up shooting someone when the attempted robbery went south.
