Police arrest juvenile with handgun near East High School
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Officers arrested a juvenile after he was caught with a firearm near East High School.
According to police, a Pueblo Police School Resource Officer (SRO) received information about a suspicious juvenile near the school Wednesday. After further investigation, it was believed the juvenile was possibly carrying a firearm.
Thursday, the Pueblo Police Department said officers saw the juvenile suspect near East High School. PPD says officers immediately contacted the juvenile and found he did have a firearm.
According to the PPD, East High School was placed on a secure perimeter during the incident. However, the normal schedule was resumed once the area was safe.
Police say the juvenile was taken into custody and booked into Pueblo Youth Center for charges of carrying a concealed weapon and a juvenile in possession of a handgun.
