Runners take part in ‘Take 5’ race in Garden of the Gods Saturday morning

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Runners took off on a 5K or 5 mile run Saturday morning at 8 starting and ending at the entrance to Garden of the Gods.

Event organizers said they expected 1,000 people to participate but it's unclear how many people actually attended.

Participants could choose between a 5 mile or 5K route through the park.

There were some road closures in the areas throughout the morning, but those have since been cleared.
