Deputies arrest woman involved in shooting on Omaha Blvd.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a domestic violence incident, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting happened at approximately 2:27 a.m. on Friday. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said the shooting occurred in the 7100 block of Omaha Blvd., Evans Elementary School in east Colorado Springs.

At the scene, deputies found a woman outside of her residence and a man outside a nearby residence with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

After the preliminary investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Xochilt Brown. She was booked into the El Paso County Jail with several charges, including second-degree attempted murder.

The incident did not affect students at Evans Elementary, and there is no threat to the public.
