EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity will be celebrating its grand opening for the second Habitat ReStore on Saturday, Sept. 18.

The goal is to help keep tons of material out of the landfill - about 1,500 tons of material just this past year. Habitat ReStore rely on generous donations of new and used household items, building supplies, and furniture to help create homeownership opportunities.

The Habitat ReStore is located on 6250 Tutt Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80923. The store will operate every Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Grand opening activities will start at 9:30 a.m. and the Colorado Springs Mayor, John Suthers will be doing a ribbon-cutting at 10:00 a.m.

“The opening of this new Habitat ReStore marks the latest step in our efforts to provide safe, decent and affordable housing in El Paso County,” said Jeff White, PPHFH Chief Retail Officer.
