Local military members train like the Denver Broncos

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., (KRDO)- The Denver Broncos teamed up with USAA to host the USAA's Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp for active-duty military members at the South Suburban Sports Dome.

After a hiatus in 2020, the event is back this year.

After the boot camp Wednesday, military members got the chance to enjoy a VIP hospitality area and watch the Broncos practice at the UCHealth Training Center.

The Broncos say the event was meant to show the team's gratitude and appreciation for the local military community.

Service members participated in football drills mirroring those used by NFL coaches to evaluate NFL talent. The drills include the 40-yard dash and quarterback arm challenge just to name a few.

Military bases and units taking part in the event include the United States Army, Air Force, and Navy.
