City plans modified Chocolate Bunny Egg hunt for kids
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Saturday, April 3rd, the city of Colorado Springs has staggered egg hunts at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.
The annual tradition comes with 6 time-slots, with 30 participants per slot this year. Upon arrival, children will get an image and then find eggs hidden along the trail. They'll be in search of ones that match their picture so every kid gets the same number of eggs.
Once they find them, kids will trade in the eggs for a chocolate rabbit and take-home crafts.
Last year's event was canceled because of COVID-19 precautions. In years past, they usually have upwards of 200 people on-site for each time slot. This year, though, it's a scaled-back version, with just 15% of the usual capacity.
