28% of El Paso County COVID-19 hospitalized patients were admitted in November

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- El Paso County and regional hospitals are strained and are at severe risk of being overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, according to EPC Public Health data.

The number of hospitalizations continues to rise across the state, and that was a factor to switch counties to tighter pandemic health restrictions in the last few weeks.

In El Paso County, more than 28% of total COVID-19 hospitalizations since the pandemic began are from November 1 to November 22.

KRDO is asking state and local health officials about how they are handling the hospitalization surge. Watch tonight at 6 for the full story.
