PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A single-engine plane made an emergency landing in an open field in eastern Pueblo County Tuesday morning.

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Department was dispatched just before 10 a.m. near DOT Road.

Two people were aboard, neither were injured. The pilot told deputies he and a passenger had taken off earlier from the Pueblo Memorial Airport when the fuel gauge showed the plane was low on fuel, requiring an emergency landing.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
